Shell Spirax S4 TMX Premium SAE 10W30 Multi-functional Tractor Transmission and Hydraulic Fluid Approved for Allison C-4 fluids and API GL-5 Approved Fluids (Previous Name: Shell Donax TD)

Shell Spirax S4 TXM is a premium, high performance, SAE 10W-30 universal tractor transmission oil (UTTO) developed for multiple functions but more specifically formulated for the unique demands of tractors and off-highway equipment.


NOT to be used as an engine oil, instead ideally suited for use with transmissions, hydraulic systems, and other heavy-duty ancillary systems fitted to off-road agricultural farm equipment that require a combined hydraulic, transmission, and drive fluid with wet brake and power take-off.

Excellent low temperature fluidity assures responsive hydraulic performance and smooth gearshift performance. In addition, to enhanced protection through increased reliability and reduced downtime, this premium SAE 10W-30 multi-functional UTTO ensures minimised costs and maximized utilization. 

Shell Spirax S4 TMX is designed to meet challenges and solve problems.
Providing longer enhanced protection for both ancillary systems for agricultural tractors and off-road equipment, increased low-temperature flow for enhanced operational comfort, enhanced fuel efficiency of the transmissions, efficient lubrication and hydraulic control system performance within the transmission. 

Applications include:

  • Suitable for use in applications where Allison C-4 type fluids are required.
  • Can be used when a SAE J 306 85W grade is recommended.
  • Evaluated against the latest requirements of leading tractor and transmission manufacturers including John Deere, Massey Ferguson, CNH and ZF.
  • Komatsu - recommended for use in certain construction equipment.
  • Agricultural tractor transmissions, hydraulic systems of tractors or ancillary equipment, off-highway construction equipment, and more...
  • Dana-Spicer mechanically controlled transmissions.
  • Also recommended for use in Case equipment where fluids meeting MS 1207, 1209 or 1210 are specified.
  • NOT to be used as an Engine Oil or to keep the engine itself lubricated!
