Sunoco E85-R 99 Octane Unleaded Racing Fuel contains 85% Ethanol.

Sunoco E85-R is a blended racing fuel that contains highly refined hydrocarbons with 85% Ethanol. Due to its high concentration of oxygenates, there will be considerably higher fuel flow compared to conventional non-oxygenated fuel. Consult with your fuel injection system or carburetor supplier for correct air/fuel ratio calibrations. Sunoco E85-R is consistently blended to 85% ethanol compared to other conventional E85 Blends that can actually vary from 51 percent to 85 percent and generally never as high as 85 percent. If you are looking for a consistent year round E85 race fuel, this is the product for you.

Sunoco E85-R does not contain metallic additives and will not harm oxygen sensors. It should be stored in dark, tightly sealed containers where the temperature is stable. Handled under such conditions, shelf life is in excess of 1 year. Check with your fuel system and fuel container manufacturers for compatibility with ethanol and E85 blends. Please note that due to the high oxygenation of E85-R, the octane values are estimated.

Note: the octane ratings for E85-R are estimates. The conventional ASTM laboratory octane tests cannot accommodate the high oxygen content of fuels like E85-R.

SUNOCO TECH CORNER

Sunoco’s oxygenated fuels contain alcohol, and that alcohol helps performance. Alcohol can have some drawbacks, though: Proper storage becomes key when you’re talking about fuels containing alcohol. Alcohol is also such an effective cleaner that it could loosen deposits in older, dirtier systems and clog the fuel filter.
