TECTYL 155FF PREMIUM BLACK RUST-PROOFING UNDERCOATING

Tectyl 155FF Black Undercoating is a solvent base gelled calcium sulfonate corrosion preventive compound cutback with minerals spirits.
This corrosion inhibiting compound offers excellent abrasion resistance, weathering, and corrosion protection for both steel and wood substrates.

Tectyl 155FF Black is formulated to be applied directly to production grade steel for protection in corrosive environments. This black wax-like coating provides a high-quality, non-tacky film undercoating that is dry, firm, and flexible for maximum effectiveness and protection.

This premium rustproofing compound is thixotropic which means that in its uncured state, the product is gel-like and becomes more fluid with mixing and agitation. This trait allows for much easier application, spreading, and product flow during use.

Product Uses

  • Quality Black Abrasion Resistant Undercoating for protection of package delivery step vans, municipal transportation equipment, truck beverage bodies, and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) trailers.
  • Recommended for applications requiring a firm film coating with weathering resistance.
  • Provides effective protection of used transportation equipment with less than perfect substrates.

Product Performance:

  • Firm, black, wax-like film will repel water, will self-heal, and remain flexible at low temperatures.
  • Recommended wet film thickness (WFT) of 11-13 mils over the surface profile, it will deposit the recommended dry film thickness (DFT) of 5-6 mils.
  • Dry to touch in 4-6 hours, weather resistant after 6 hours, and fully cured in 24 hours.
  • Covers 151 square ft. per gallon when applied at the recommended dry film thickness (DFT).
  • Can provide up to 5 years of protection on metal and wood substrates at the recommended dry film thickness (DFT).

Application Equipment Recommendations:

  • Pumps with ratios of 15:1 or greater are advised for efficient use of container content.
  • Tungsten Carbide Nozzles Tip in the spray gun is recommended. (.017" to .021" tip orifice size)
  • High Pressure Fluid Hose of no less than 3/8 in. diameters is suggested for less than 50 ft. of material hose.
  • Low Ratio pumps (15-30:1): operate through 100 ft. of 1/2 in & 50 ft. of 3/8 in. hose for a max of 150 ft.
  • High Ratio pumps (>30:1): operate through 200 ft. of 1/2 in & 50 ft. of 3/8 in. hose for a max of 250 ft.
