Tectyl 2102 HP Paintable & Quick Drying, Black Solvent Base Rubberized Undercoating for Transportation Equipment with UV Protection

Tectyl 2102 HP is a high performance (HP) solvent base rubberized corrosion compound suitable for the complete undercoating of both ferrous (iron-containing) and non-ferrous (no-iron) metals.
Advanced UV protection prevents chipping and cracking from harsh environmental conditions, ensuring a long-lasting, paintable surface that is perfect for transportation equipment, automobiles, and trailer chassis frames.

Tectyl 2102 HP is a premium rubberized undercoating formulated with a unique blend of rubberized polymers, fillers, and corrosion inhibitors to form a powerful surface barrier against corrosion.
This quick-drying solvent base leaves a textured appearance, the rubberized polymers retaining film flexibility to withstand substrate movement without compromising protection.
Once cured, it will form a flexible, black protective film with powerful UV resistance.

For additional safeguarding, Tectyl 2102 HP can be topcoated with automotive paint finishes to grant increased protection against corrosion, road debris, and environmental damage.

Tectyl 2102 HP is the ultimate solution to effectively preventing damaging rust and corrosion by delivering a thick, durable, and UV resistant barrier, extending the overall lifespan and reliability of your desired equipment structures, and vehicles.

Product Uses

  • Black, Paintable and Abrasion Resistant, Solvent Base Rubberized Corrosion Compound suitable for complete undercoating of ferrous (iron-containing) and non-ferrous (no-iron) metals, transportation equipment, automobiles, and trailer chassis frames.
  • Designed with advanced UV protection capabilities to further resist chipping and cracking during harsh environmental conditions.
  • Formulated to dry significantly quicker, exhibit improved adhesion to metal substrates, retain flexibility with resistance to cracking, and provide a textured appearance once applied.
  • Can be topcoated with automotive paint finishes to amplify protection options against corrosion and environmental damage.
  • Exhibits exceptional Corrosion and Abrasion Resistance when used to protect State Department (DOT) dump bodies and when used with the automotive primer and paint coating systems.
  • Tectyl 2102 HP is rubber and contains NO asphalt filler.

Product Performance:

  • When applied at the recommended wet film thickness of 28-34 mils over the surface profile, it will deposit the recommended dry film thickness (DFT) of 8-10 mils.
  • Dry to handle within 1 hour and fully cured after 24 hours.
  • Covers 58 square ft. per gallon when applied at the recommended film thickness.
  • Can provide up to 3+ years of outdoor protection and 5+ years of indoor protection on metal substrates at the recommended dry film thickness (DFT).
  • Passes Federal Specification TT-C-520B Section 3.4.7 Fire Resistance Test.

Application Equipment Recommendations:

  • Pumps with ratios of 15:1 or greater are advised for efficient use of container content.
  • Tungsten Carbide Nozzles Tip in the spray gun is recommended. (.019" to .023" tip orifice size)
  • High Pressure Fluid Hose of no less than 3/8 in. diameters is suggested for less than 50 ft. of material hose.
  • Low Ratio pumps (15-30:1): operate through 100 ft. of 1/2 in & 50 ft. of 3/8 in. hose for a max of 150 ft.
  • High Ratio pumps (>30:1): operate through 200 ft. of 1/2 in & 50 ft. of 3/8 in. hose for a max of 250 ft.
