Tectyl 300G Clear, Single-Application, Direct-To-Metal, Water-Based Corrosion Preventive Coating Formulated with Low VOCs & High Flash Point of 136°F

Tectyl 300G Clear is a premium water-based, clear corrosion preventative compound designed for direct-to-metal application on both ferrous (iron-containing) and non-ferrous (iron-free) industrial components handled within environments requiring a higher flash point and stricter VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds/Content) standards.
This high-quality rust preventive paint is an environmentally friendly corrosion inhibitor coating that provides excellent corrosion protection at a low film build, also effective as a base-layer primer that can be painted over for various industrially manufactured applications .

Tectyl 300G Clear appears light amber when applied and will cure to form a hard but flexible clear film that is chip-resistant and works exceptionally well for coating surfaces with complex shapes.
As a water-based industrial corrosion preventive compound, it possesses an increased Flash Point of 136°F and the clear film leaves no residue when touched, allowing for safe use as well as simplified handling during manufacturer sorting and stacking activities.

This quick-drying rust preventive paint is specifically formulated with a low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds/Content) of 3.3 lbs. per gallon, significantly reducing air pollutants, especially important within industries with strict environmental regulations.
Tectyl 300G Clear is your solution to a high-performance, environmentally friendly corrosion preventive, delivering exceptional protection and versatility for a wide range of industrial applications.

Product Uses:

  • Water-Based, Clear, hard, and flexible, chip resistant coating for application to both ferrous (iron-containing) & non-ferrous (iron-free) substrates for industrially manufactured transportation parts, forged castings, steel grates and fabricated components requiring an environmentally friendly clear corrosion preventive coating.
  • Deposits a durable and hard, but flexible protective barrier that makes it ideal for application to surfaces with more complex shapes.
  • Performs very well as a standalone, single-application coating or as a topcoat on painted surfaces.
  • Formulated with a low Volatile Organic Compounds/Content (VOC) of 3.3 lbs. per gallon minus water.
  • High Flash Point of 136°F, making it a versatile fit for most workplace applications requiring a high performance clear hard coating
  • 80% gloss using a 60° gloss meter.

Product Performance:

  • When applied at the recommended wet film thickness (WFT) of 4-8 mils over the surface profile, it will deposit the recommended dry film thickness (DFT) of 1.5-2 mils over the surface profile.
  • Dry to touch in 15-30 minutes and fully cured after 24 hours. Air movement and heat will accelerate dry time.
  • Dried film leaves no residue when touched, making the coated goods easy to manage during sorting and stacking activities in manufacturing environments.
  • Covers 256 square ft. per gallon when applied at the recommended dry film thickness (DFT)
  • Can provide up to 1 year of outdoor protection and 2 years of indoor or undercover protection on metal and wood substrates at the recommended dry film thickness (DFT).

Application Equipment Recommendations:

  • Pumps with ratios of 15:1 or greater are advised for efficient use of container content.
  • Tungsten Carbide Nozzles Tip in the spray gun is recommended. (.015" to .019" tip orifice size)
  • High Pressure Fluid Hose of no less than 3/8 in. diameters is suggested for less than 50 ft. of material hose.
  • Low Ratio pumps (15-30:1): operate through 100 ft. of 1/2 in & 50 ft. of 3/8 in. hose for a max of 150 ft.
  • High Ratio pumps(>30:1): operate through 200 ft. of 1/2 in & 50 ft. of 3/8 in. hose for a max of 250 ft.
  • Can be applied via brush, dip, or roller.
