Tectyl 900 Water-Displacing General-Purpose Preservative Lubricating Oil & Corrosion Preventive Compound for Low Temperature Applications QPL Approved Meeting MIL-PRF-32033

Tectyl 900 is a Qualified Product Listed (QPL) for Govt. Designation MIL-PRF-32033, Qualification Number LP-7062; formulated to also fulfill the requirements of MIL-L-644 Type P-9 and Federal Specification VV-L-800C.
This specification encompasses two types of water-displacing preservative lubricating oils, Type I (General preservative lubricating oil) and Type II (Corrosion preventive preservative lubricating oil), for general purpose applications at low temperatures.

Tectyl 900 is a water-displacing, low viscosity lubricating oil and corrosion inhibiting compound that protects ferrous (iron-containing) and non-ferrous (no-iron) industrial parts from corrosion during storage and covered transit.
Formulated ideally to provide enhanced lubrication and protection of small arms and automatic weapons, but doubles as a quality general-purpose lubricant for any application demanding water-displacement/resistance, corrosion protection, and/or energy-efficient, low temperature performance.
Tectyl 900 will cure to a translucent, amber, and oily film coating.

Tectyl 900 is an easy way to provide high-quality lubrication and protection for all your applications yearning effective water displacement and resistance, as well as exceptional cold flow properties, pumpability, and overall low temperature performance through Tectyl 900’s low viscosity, which is like that of a light machine oil.

Product Uses

  • Translucent, Amber General-Purpose Preservative Lubricating Oil and Corrosion Inhibiting Compound approved under Military Specification MIL-PRF-323033; developed especially for lubrication and corrosion prevention of small arms and automatic weapons, also useful as a lubricant for all applications calling for water-displacement, corrosive prevention, and enhanced low temperature performance (-70°F - 300°F).
  • Blend of highly refined petrolatum oil containing suitable additives granting tremendous resistance to oxidation that entirely removes the risk of galvanic corrosion in brass-steel bimetallic systems.
  • Excellent lubrication capabilities for locks, hinges, electric motors, chains, as well as equipment for fishing, hunting, and camping.
  • Cummins specified preservative oil for diesel generators with HPI Fuel System that will be in storage or inactive without exercise for a period of 24-60 months.
  • Manufacturers of refrigeration unit components have used Tectyl 900 as a protective coating for packaged shipment and storage of refrigeration compressor parts, such as valves, shafts, gears, etc.
  • For small engine storage, pour slowly into the throat of the carburetor until the engine stalls which means the engine is now preserved internally and assures no gums or corrosion will develop during storage and that valves will not stick during start-up.
  • NOT recommended for outdoor storage.

Product Performance:

  • When applied at the recommended wet film thickness (WFT) of 0.5 mils over the surface profile, it will deposit the recommended dry film thickness (DFT) of 0.2 mils.
  • Fully cured after 4 hours.
  • Covers 4,570 square ft. per gallon when applied at the recommended film thickness.
  • Can provide up to 2 years of indoor or undercover protection on metal substrates at the recommended dry film thickness.

Application Equipment Recommendations:

  • Can be applied via dip, brush, swab, spray, or squirt can.
