V-DAMP® 3680C Light Tan, Water-Based and Non-Toxic, Liquid Vibration and Sound Damping Coating Compound Material Suitable for Interior Applications
V-Damp® 3680C is a light tan liquid vibration damping compound designed for spray or trowel application on vibrating metal structures such as sheet metal panels, floor assemblies, railway carriages, stainless steel sinks, and a multitude of other applications.
Vibration damping compounds are formulated with viscoelastic properties (exhibiting both elastic and viscous characteristics) to effectively absorb vibrations (through the elastic component) and dissipate vibrational energy as heat (via the viscous component) through internal damping.
V-Damp® 3680C is composed of a water-based synthetic resin that is non-toxic and non-flammable, exhibiting exceptional adhesion to a variety of materials (stainless, bowdlerized, or primed steel, wash-primed galvanized sheet metal, wash-primed aluminum, etc.) when applied over properly prepared surfaces which can be air dried to form a tough coating.
Any high-quality latex paint can be used as a topcoat for this vibration damping compound.
A 2mm applied film of V-Damp® 3680C will air dry to safe-handle within 4 hours at room temperature. Heavier film builds require longer dry times, which can be accelerated through air movement or oven drying using moderate temperatures.
In addition to the high acoustic effectiveness, V-Damp® 3680C offers increased durability and improved overall performance in machinery and equipment through reductions in vibrations while providing critical thermal insulation properties to maintain critical characteristics over a wide temperature range.
