Tectyl 283S-17-HF is a premium, solvent-based, water displacing corrosion preventive compound cut back with mineral spirits that meets the requirements of Hamilton Sundstrand Engineering Standard MS02 43revAF.
Hamilton Sundstrand Engineering Standard MS02 43revAF requires approved compounds to be non-toxic and non-flammable while emphasizing top quality in appearance, safety, storage, and most importantly, exceptionally effective penetrating ability, lubrication, and corrosion resistance.

Product Uses
- Ultra-Light and Transparent, Water-Displacing, Lubricating, and Penetrating Oil designed specifically to protect metal industrial parts and transportation parts from corrosion and developing corrosive conditions during the manufacturing process and within storage.
- Meets the requirements of Hamilton Sundstrand Engineering Standard MS02 43revAF.
- Not recommended for outdoor protection.
Product Performance:
- When applied at the recommended wet film thickness of 1 mil over the surface profile, it will deposit the recommended dry film thickness of 0.10 mils.
- Dry-to-touch in 1 hour and will cure in 2-3 hours when applied at the recommended film thickness of 0.20 mils.
- Possesses a Flashpoint of 140°F.
- Covers 2,250 square ft. per gallon when applied at the recommended film thickness.
- Can provide up to 1 year of indoor protection.
Application Equipment Recommendations:
- Can be dip, brush, spray applied, or flow coated.
- Can be sprayed through a conventional pressurized container like the Quick Coat Precision Sprayer and powerful garden sprayers.
