Tectyl 848D HF Quick-Drying and Low Viscosity, Solvent-Based Light Oil Corrosion Preventive Compound Formulated with a High Flash Point of 140F° for CNC Type Machinery Parts

Tectyl 848D HF is a premium solvent-based, high flash, corrosion inhibitor compound designed to deliver effective corrosion protection for both ferrous (iron-containing)/non-ferrous (iron-free) steel substrates.
This high-quality thin film rust preventive provides effective protection for highly polished, CNC (Computer Numerical Control) type mechanical parts during in-plant processing, transit, and storage as well as granting a suitable cost-effective solution for short-term protection for various metal components like moving and spare parts.

This solvent-based rust preventive is formulated specifically with a high flash point of 140F°, minimizing risk of sparks from high-temperature equipment or machinery greatly enhances the working time in elevated temperature environments.
Tectyl 848D HF is a low viscosity preventive oil that simplifies application via brush, dip, or spray, working exceptionally well to coat surfaces containing more complex shapes as well as penetrate deep within the crevices of the metallic equipment.

This quick-drying rust preventive will ultimately cure to form a very thin, transparent, and slightly oily film that leaves a non-discernable sheen, reflecting light to provide a smooth and pleasant surface appearance.
Tectyl 848D HF is perfect to deliver economical and convenient protection from corrosion and rust for your all your corrosion susceptible machinery and metallic components.

Product Uses:

  • Transparent, Solvent-Based, Light Oil Corrosion Preventive intended for the protection of ferrous/non-ferrous metals, as well as CNC type machined parts like gears and lawn mower blades during in-plant processing, transit, and storage.
  • High Flash point of 140F° minimizes risk of sparks and inflammability during elevated temperature machinery use.
  • Significantly low viscosity makes it much easier to apply product via brush, spray, or dip onto metal surfaces with relatively complex shapes.
  • Leaves a thin and light, oily protective barrier.
  • Can provide up to 1 year of indoor or undercover protection on metal substrates at the recommended dry film thickness.
  • NOT recommended for outdoor protection.

Product Performance:

  • When applied at the recommended wet film thickness of 0.5 mils over the surface profile, it will deposit the recommended dry film thickness (DFT) of 0.13 mils.
  • Covers 6,600 square ft. per gallon when applied at the recommended film thickness.

Application Equipment Recommendations:

  • Can be applied via spray, brush, dip, or roller.
  • Pumps with ratios of 10:1 or greater are advised for efficient use of container content.
  • Tungsten Carbide Nozzles Tip in the spray gun is recommended. (.007" to .009" tip orifice size)
  • High Pressure Fluid Hose of no less than 3/8 in. diameters is suggested for less than 50 ft. of material hose.
  • Low Ratio pumps (10-30:1): operate through 100 ft. of 1/2 in & 50 ft. of 3/8 in. hose for a max of 150 ft.
  • High Ratio pumps(>30:1): operate through 200 ft. of 1/2 in & 50 ft. of 3/8 in. hose for a max of 250 ft.

Identification & Classification Codes/Numbers:

  • Export Control Classification Number (ECCN):
