Tectyl 3344 Black Zero VOC, Water Base, Paintable, Environmentally Friendly, and Sag Resistant Corrosion Preventive Undercoating Free of Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPS)
Tectyl 3344 Black is a paintable, environmentally friendly, water base corrosion preventive coating free of Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPS) and formulated with zero Volatile Organic Compounds/Content (VOCs) designed to deliver excellent single application, environmentally conscious protection for both ferrous (iron-containing) and non-ferrous (no iron) substrates, as well.
Similar to Tectyl 3335 Black Coating with Volatile Organic Content (VOC) at a low 0.1 lbs. per gallon, Tectyl 3344 Black premium coating is specially formulated with zero Volatile Organic Compounds for a superior environmentally conscious undercoating opportunity, providing exceptional adhesion and durability to primers, e-coat, and oily steel substrates
This premium black corrosion preventive undercoating is useful for applicators that require a high resistance to sagging/bending of wet coating to enable single coat applications without running or dripping while efficiently resisting chipping, scratches, and gravel marks typically found on truck/trailer underbodies.
Tectyl 3344 Black is applied to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s) transportation equipment from the US Military to protect their equipment from the harmful effects of salt water and the harsh environments they consistently operate in.
This powerful rust inhibiting undercoating will ultimately cure to form a hard, black protective film that effectively maintains its flexibility and has great resistance to abrasion.
Tectyl 3344 is the ultimate environmentally friendly solution to effectively preventing damaging rust and corrosion by delivering a durable moisture and salt resistant barrier coating, extending the overall lifespan and reliability of your desired equipment structures, and vehicles with the environment in mind.
Product Uses:
- Black, Paintable, Abrasion and Sagging Resistant, Water Base Corrosion Inhibitor Compound suitable for the complete undercoating of ferrous (iron-containing) and non-ferrous (no-iron) metals, transportation equipment, automobiles, rail cars, intermodal trailer chassis/containers and construction equipment.
- Environmentally friendly formulation that is free of harmful Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPS) and contains zero Volatile Organic Compounds/Content (0 VOCs).
- Delivers outstanding adhesion, hardness and resilience to most substrates including primers, e-coat, and oily steel.
- Applied when an applicator requires a coating with higher sag resistance to achieve a one coat application without running or dripping of coating, for increased coverage.
- Designed to efficiently resist chipping, scratches and gravel marks normally seen on truck and trailer underbodies.
- Can conveniently be recoated with most urethane, acrylic or alkyd resin formulated automotive topcoats.
Product Performance:
- When applied at the recommended wet film thickness of 14-20 mils over the surface profile, it will deposit the recommended dry film thickness (DFT) of 6-10 mils.
- Dry to handle within 1 hour and fully cured after 72 hours.
- Covers 48-73 square ft. per gallon when applied at the recommended film thickness.
- Can provide up to 3+ years of outdoor protection and 5+ years of indoor protection on metal substrates at the recommended dry film thickness (DFT).
Application Equipment Recommendations:
- Pumps with ratios of 15:1 or greater are advised for efficient use of container content.
- Tungsten Carbide Nozzles Tip in the spray gun is recommended. (.019" to .023" tip orifice size)
- High Pressure Fluid Hose of no less than 3/8 in. diameters is suggested for less than 50 ft. of material hose.
- Low Ratio pumps (15-30:1): operate through 100 ft. of 1/2 in & 50 ft. of 3/8 in. hose for a max of 150 ft.
- High Ratio pumps (>30:1): operate through 200 ft. of 1/2 in & 50 ft. of 3/8 in. hose for a max of 250 ft.
